Passengers with Reduced Mobility
All services published on the website, displayed in the office and/or through the MyTrip.md software, are subject to the availability of Service Providers, the terms and conditions of transportation (including airline-imposed passenger transport rules), and will be additionally applied to the Terms and Conditions stipulated by MyTrip.md.
The terms of Service Providers may include provisions regarding various boarding procedures, obligations (if applicable), or other restrictions. MyTrip.md is not responsible for the implementation of these rules but, out of concern for its clients, to prevent and eliminate discrimination and ensure equality for persons with special needs, it informs you as follows.
Your transportation contract with the airline that provides your air transportation, international, domestic, or an internal part of an international trip, is subject to this notice, any other notices or individual carrier conditions, regulations, rules, and applicable policies.
The carrier has the right to refuse the transportation of passengers who do not comply with applicable legislation or who do not timely present all necessary travel documents and information regarding special needs.
Acceptance for travel of persons with disabilities is based on the following factors:
To ensure the comfort of travel for persons with disabilities, you must consider several factors, such as the person's health condition, requested equipment, involved airlines, and maximum limitations on aircraft types.
In this regard, any special service for persons with disabilities must be requested at least 72 hours before the flight to allow the carrier to organize and finalize the necessary arrangements. Usually, these requests are communicated to the agent at the time of booking the ticket, who enters the required information into the passenger's reservation. Failure to comply with this rule may result in the cancellation of the flight reservation by the airline.
For individuals suffering from certain illnesses and considered medical cases, airlines will request medical data regarding the passenger's health condition. A special MEDIF form must be completed by the passenger's attending physician and submitted to the company.
The forms can be found on the official websites of the airlines operating the specific flight or can be requested through the agent at the time of booking. After completion by the attending physician, the forms must be submitted to an email address that you can find on the official websites of the airlines operating the specific flight or can be transmitted through the agent who made the reservation.
Please inform us to what extent your mobility is reduced. There are three internationally recognized categories of wheelchairs to determine the degree of disability:
If you are traveling with your wheelchair, please inform us about its weight, dimensions, and other special characteristics (e.g., foldable/non-foldable, sports/electrically powered, etc.).
Wheelchairs powered by electric batteries are accepted for transportation by airlines under special conditions. Batteries that cannot spill (dry or gel batteries) can remain attached to the wheelchair but must be secured, disconnected, and their terminals isolated before boarding the aircraft. Wheelchairs with wet or Lithium batteries are not accepted for transportation.
The transportation of mobility equipment (wheelchair, crutches, other assistive devices) for persons with reduced mobility is free of charge. They are transported only in the cargo hold.
Passengers with partial hearing or visual impairments
The passenger must inform about their impairment at the time of booking to convey the information to the airline that will organize the necessary assistance. No medical certificate is required for passengers with hearing or visual impairments.
Passengers with multiple sensory impairments (visual and auditory) must be accompanied during the flight.
Passengers with reduced mobility or sensory perception impairments can express their preference for the seat occupied on board, but due to flight safety considerations, these preferences may be restricted to certain rows or locations (e.g., rows with emergency exits).
Passengers with visual and hearing impairments can be accompanied by guide animals (dogs). The transportation of service dogs is accepted free of charge. Passengers traveling with service dogs should inform about this at the time of booking.
Acceptance conditions for service dogs on flights:
MyTrip.md is not liable and cannot be claimed compensation if the passenger did not fly or was denied boarding due to their failure to provide timely information about special needs.
If your itinerary involves transportation with different carriers, you should inquire with each individual carrier for information on the rules applied to persons with special needs.
